The 28th Annual National Garden Railway Convention (2012ngrc) will be held at the Pheasant Run Resort and Spa in St. Charles, Illinois on Tuesday, August 14th through Sunday, August 19th, 2012.

Public Days 

On Saturday and Sunday, August 18-19, The Exhibit hall will be open to the public. The Exhibit Hall contains two very large operating G-Scale layouts and over 50 vendors selling Model Railroad and garden products. Admission is $10 for adults, $5 for children 9-15 and free for children 8 and under. 

The convention is dedicated to the hobby of running Model Railroads outdoors in your garden. 

The convention features over three dozen working Garden Railroads in the the Chicago Area that can be visited during the convention.

 There are also over 40 clinics covering topics related to Model Railroading, Gardening and Ponds. 

There are  several social events during the convention:

Wednesday Ice Cream Social 
Thursday Night Dinner at the Illinois Railroad Museum. 
Friday Night Dinner.
Saturday Night Dinner. 

There is a huge Exhibit Hall featuring over 60 Vendors.

 The Convention is being hosted by the three large-scale train organizations in the Chicagoland area: Chicago Area Garden Railway Society, the LGB Model Railroad Club of Chicago and Midwest Modular Rails.

BUS RESERVATION DEADLINE

FOR LAYOUT TOURS AND TO BBQ

           

The deadline for bus reservations for layout tours and/or the bus ride

to the BBQ at IRM is August 7, 2012.

 

If you plan to take a bus to the layouts during the Convention or to the BBQ,  reservations must be made prior  to August 7th.

* Bus pricing now includes a $1.00 per person/ per day fuel surcharge. This price also applies to the bus ride to/from the BBQ.

 

* If you registered prior to April 15, 2012, you will be required to pay the fuel charge amount when you pick up your registration packets at the registration booth.
